«~°sµ§°O The wines are outstanding, showing polish and elegance with the powerful rich fruity flavours of a superbly made Chianti Classico. The straight Chianti Classico reveals masses of black, plummy fruit with a touch of toasted oak. The Riserva shows the typical character of Sangiovese with its ripe, even cristalized cherry fruit, tobacco and orange peel. This wine has a promising structure for ageing.
"La Gioia" is a big wine ! Loads of dense, concentrated fruit and rich caramel, chocolate and coconut aromas add to the complexity ... classic Sangiovese at its finest.

1996 Toscana La Gioia Score: 90 Issue: Nov 30, 1999 Extremely well crafted--as always. Dark, with beautiful aromas of berry, raspberry and mint. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a fruit and berry aftertaste. Best after 2000. (JS)

1998 Toscana La Gioia Score: 88 Issue: Oct 15, 2001 Soft and silky red, with berry and chocolate character. Medium- to full-bodied, with round and ripe tannins and a medium finish. Delicious. Better with age. Sangiovese. Best after 2003. 830 cases made. (JS)
